Plus joins Polsat Group. Cyfrowy Polsat closes the transaction of acquisition of Metelem

On May 7, 2014 all conditions precedent have been met and Cyfrowy Polsat closed the transaction of acquisition of Metelem, entity indirectly controlling 100% shares in Polkomtel. The operator of mobile network Plus joins Polsat Group, now the largest media-telecommunications group in the region and one of the largest Polish entrepreneurships.

Cyfrowy Polsat and Plus present results for the first quarter

Cyfrowy Polsat Capital Group published excellent operating and financial results for the first quarter of 2014. The satellite platform reports record high revenue, Telewizja Polsat improves both audience and advertising market shares, and Polkomtel (who joined the Group on May 7) regularly increases the number of mobile Internet users and maintains high profitability of business.

IPLA – more television channel, new packages and free testing!

The largest Polish internet TV IPLA is now available in a new version – with 36 channels, new packages and a modified, transparent content layout, which will facilitate searching and viewing video content.

IPLA users can enjoy 10 new channels, over 1400 films, hit series before their premiere on television, latest programmes: entertainment, educational, guide, natural scientific, music, cartoons and many others from over 30 TV stations as well as live sports events.

New IPLA content, packages and channels on iOS powered devices

A new IPLA application for iOS is available on the App Store. Its users have access to 10 packages offering diversified video content for children and adults: IPLA NEWS, IPLA ROZRYWKA, IPLA DZIECI, IPLA WIEDZA, IPLA MINI, IPLA MAX, IPLA FILMY I SERIALE, IPLA PREMIERY, IPLA SPORT, IPLA EXTRA. The platform’s viewers will be able to watch hits from the largest production studios as well as events available in the PPV system on their iPads and iPhones. The application also provides a full offer of 36 TV channels live.

All Polsat Group clients will see the 2014 Men’s Volleyball World Championships in Poland free of any additional charges

Due to the withdrawal of sponsors of the transmission in open television, the lack of serious interest of other broadcasters in the purchase of transmission rights and the lack of coordination of such an important event by government institutions, Telewizja Polsat was forced to make the decision that the only way to air the 2014 World Championships in Poland is to offer them live in pay television. Paid access to the World Championships in men’s volleyball Poland 2014 will be offered to all satellite and cable operators on identical terms.
