In Q1 2025 Polsat Plus Group posted growth of financial and operational results. Revenues increased to the level of PLN 3.5 billion, while adjusted EBIDTA exceeded PLN 800 million. The Group expanded the coverage of Plus 5G network to an area inhabited by 26 million people. Polsat TV’s spring programming schedule enjoyed very good audience share results, while Formula 1 racing and Bundesliga German football league matches returned to Eleven Sports schedule. The portfolio of streaming services offered by Plus, Polsat Box and Polsat Box Go has been enriched and now also includes access to SkyShowtime. Polsat-Interia Group was the leader among Internet publishers. The Group’s RES projects generated 278 GWh of energy.
Major events:
- In Q1 2025 Polsat Plus Group’s revenue increased by 3.7% YoY to the level of more than PLN 3.5 bn, while adjusted1) EBITDA grew by 4.8% and exceeded PLN 800 mn.
- Consistent pursuit of the multi-play strategy is reflected by the growing ARPU generated by contract customers, with the ARPU of B2C customers increasing by 4.2% YoY and the ARPU of B2B customers growing by 1.2% YoY, while the churn level has been reduced to as little as 6.8%.
- Plus’s 5G network now covers the area inhabited by 26 million people, while the 5G Ultra network, offering data speeds of up to 1 GB/s, reaches nearly 17 million of the country’s inhabitants. With further network development in mind, the Group acquired spectrum in the 700 MHz frequency band.
- The reach of the Group’s high-speed home Internet access, offered by Plus and Netia based on their own networks and wholesale access, increased to nearly 11 million households.
- SkyShowtime, the new streaming service in the Group’s offer, is available for PLN 15 monthly from Plus and at prices starting from PLN 10 monthly from Polsat Box, as well as together with the Polsat Box Go Premium package.
- Thanks to the success of the spring programming schedule and the high interest in the coverage of new sports events, TV Polsat Group’s channels noted very good audience results while increasing the audience share to 22.1%. Popular sports events that are covered include UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League football matches covered by Polsat Sport channels, the French Ligue 1 McDonald’s, Spanish LALIGA E SPORTS, the German Bundesliga football matches as well as Formula 1 races which are shown by Eleven Sports Channels.
- In Q1 2025 Polsat-Interia Group was the number 1 among Internet publishers in Poland.
- Polsat Plus Group’s own RES generated 278 GWh of green energy (105 GWh generated using wind power, 16 GWh from solar power and 157 GWh from biomass burning), that is 40% more than a year earlier.
- The Group won tenders for delivery of hydrogen-powered city buses to further cities –41 NesoBus buses will be delivered to Cracow, Rybnik and Rzeszow.
- Polsat Plus Group sold a 10% stake of Asseco Poland while using the thus obtained funds for prepayment of the fixed-term loan of 681 mn PLN.
“We have started 2025 with very good results. We continue our key activities. We have been successfully developing our 5G network, we produce attractive content while noting high interest in our new sports coverage, we maintain high position in the online segment,” says Mirosław Błaszczyk, President of the Management Boards of Cyfrowy Polsat and Polkomtel, Polsat Plus Group. “Our strategic investments in the green energy segment are nearing completion. As stated in the assumptions of our Strategy 2023+, we have become the leading producer for green energy and our revenues from sale of green energy gradually increase,” adds Mr. Mirosław Błaszczyk.
Polsat Plus Group’s financial results – growth of revenue and EBITDA
In Q1 2025 Polsat Plus Group posted very good financial results. The Group’s revenues increased by 3.7% YoY, to more than PLN 3.5 bn, while adjusted EBITDA grew by 4.8%, reaching PLN 809 mn. Free cash flow for the past 12 months, adjusted for CAPEX in the green energy segment, remained high, at ca. PLN 1.3 bn.
“In Q1 2025 we generated very good financial results. The Group’s revenues grew by 3.7% to PLN 3.5 bn while adjusted EBITDA increased by 4.8% and reached PLN 809 mn. The newest segment of our operations – the green energy, generated PLN 57 mn in EBITDA and according to our estimates it will be generating as much as ca. PLN 500 mn in 2026, as stipulated by the assumptions of our Strategy 2023+,” says Katarzyna Ostap-Tomann, a Management Board Member of Cyfrowy Polsat responsible for finance and ESG areas, and the Vice-President responsible for finance at Polkomtel, Polsat Plus Group. “Moreover, by using the funds obtained from sale of a stake held in Asseco Poland, we made partial prepayment of a loan in the amount of PLN 681 million,” – adds Ms. Ostap-Tomann.
Efficient management of investment projects, strict cost control and maximization of the revenue from sale of green energy remain the priorities for Polsat Plus Group in 2025.
Segment of B2C and B2B services – further growth of ARPU generated by contract customer base
Polsat Plus Group provides ca. 13.3 million of contract services in the B2C segment (telecommunications and TV services), while more than 2.5 million customers use our multi-play services, while enjoying tangible financial benefits thanks using bundled offers of the Group’s services. The average revenue per user for B2C contract customers increased by 4.2% YoY in Q1 and reached PLN 77.7, while churn ratio in the B2C segment decreased from 7.6% to 6.8% YoY.
“It was a very good quarter across all our business segments. Our multi-play customer base increased by nearly 60 thousand and reached 2.53 million, average revenue per unit for residential contract customers increased by 4.2%, to the level of PLN 77.7. The number of mobile services (RGU’s) provided by us increased by 210 thousand, while the number of Internet access services increased by 145 thousand. We see stable results in the prepaid and B2B segments. We are very satisfied with the low churn of 6.8%, which is indicative of the high loyalty of our customers,” says Maciej Stec, the Vice-President of the Management Board of Polsat Plus Group responsible for strategy.
Polsat Plus Group has 68 thousand B2B clients. The average revenue per unit generated by these clients increased by 1.2% YoY in Q1, to the level of more than PLN 1.5 thousand monthly.
Media segment: TV and online services – very good results posted by Polsat TV
Polsat TV Group had very good audience results and standing on the TV advertising market. The overall audience share for Polsat TV channels increased to 22.1% (7.5% for the main Polsat channel and 14.6% for the theme channels), while the revenues generated by Polsat TV Group from TV advertising and sponsoring activities increased by 4.1% and reached PLN 320 million, thus assuring advertising market share of 28.7% for Polsat TV Group.
Based on the average monthly performance for Q1 2025, Polsat-Interia Group maintained the leadership position among Polish Internet publishers. It also remained the no. 1 in the mobile category. Polsat-Interia Group’s Internet services were accessed by an average of 21 million users monthly who generated more than 1.9 billion page views each month.
Green energy segment – growth of energy production and EBITDA
Thanks to the dynamic investments in the green energy segment, Polsat Plus Group has become the leading producer of clean energy. In Q1 2025 it generated 278 GWh of green energy (105 GWh generated using wind power, 16 GWh from solar power and 157 GWh from biomass burning), that is 40% more than in Q1 of 2024. EBITDA generated by the green energy segment also increased, by nearly 16%, reaching PLN 57 million.
“The launch of the wind farms in Człuchów and Przyrów, offering total power of 123 MW, resulted in dynamic growth of the energy generated from our RES in Q1 2025 – by 40% YoY to 278 GWh. Construction works at our new farm in Drzeżewo, which will offer 139 MW of power, are progressing dynamically – we have already installed 45 of 63 wind turbines and electricity has already started flowing to the power grid. Thanks to this new farm, our installed wind power will be doubled soon,” says Maciej Stec, the Vice-President of the Management Board of Polsat Plus Group responsible for strategy. “This segment of our operations has been providing tangible support to the Group’s financial performance. In Q1 alone it generated 57 million zloty in EBITDA, i.e. nearly 16% more than a year earlier. We maintain our goal of achieving EBITDA of ca. 500 million PLN in 2026,” added Mr. Stec.
As regards the green energy area, we have delivered first 5 of the 26 hydrogen-powered buses ordered by the city of Chełm, and we have won tenders for the delivery of a total of 41 Nesobuses to Cracow, Rybnik and Rzeszow.
1) EBITDA for Q1 2024 has been adjusted to account for the sale of a stake in Muzo.fm (10 mn PLN) and the profit from selling a package of IPv4 addresses (164 mn PLN), while the EBITDA for Q1 2025 has been adjusted to account for the sale of a subsidiary and associate (-0.2 mn PLN).
