In 2022 Polsat Plus Group was consistently developing the Telecommunications, Content and Clean Energy pillars of its operations, while also being involved in providing support to the citizens of Ukraine by donating several dozen million zloty to this cause.
Major events in 2022:
- Polsat Plus Group was involved in the support for the citizens of Ukraine by among others assuring free telecommunication and TV services for the refugees and by joining the charity action called “Polsat Foundation for the Children of Ukraine.” All in all in 2022 the Group donated several dozen million zloty to the initiatives supporting our neighbors. - Already as many as 20 million inhabitants of Poland, in over 1000 towns and places across the country, live within the coverage area of Plus’s 5G network.
- Attractive bundled offers, which include Disney+, are available in Polsat Box, Plus, Netia and Polsat Box Go.
- Telewizja Polsat – the first private, independent TV station in Poland celebrated the 30th anniversary of its operations while invariably offering the best entertainment, thrilling sports and reliable news to millions of its viewers.
- Polsat Plus Group’s Film and TV Production Center saw opening of the seventh, and at the same time the biggest and the most modern TV studio in Poland, with floor area of 2400 sq. meters and height of 18 meters. It enables carrying out of film and TV projects as well as covering sports events and holding concerts and shows with participation of as many as even 2200 people.
- The cooperation with Volleyball World has been extended for another 10 years which, offers to the viewers access to major international volleyball tournaments, both men’s and women’s, including in particular the FIVB World Cup tournaments.
- During the fourth quarter of 2022 the number of users of Polsat Interia Group’s Internet services increased by nearly 700 thousand year-on-year, reaching 21.2 million.
- Involvement in the implementation of on-shore wind farm projects carried out together with ZE PAK power engineering company, which offer nearly 300 MW of total installed power.
- Premiere of Polish zero-emission bus, powered by green hydrogen. Our bus, Nesobus, underwent tests while carrying passengers in several Polish cities, including Gdansk, Gdynia, Wroclaw, Konin and Warsaw, and was awarded a medal at the TransExpo 2022 trade fair in Kielce.
- Construction of the hydrogen bus factory in Swidnik and of generally-accessible green hydrogen refueling stations.
- Polsat Plus Group reduced its carbon footprint by 84%, while 100% of the electricity consumed by the Group’s companies came from low-and zero-emission sources.
- Acquisition of a 70% percent stake in Antyweb.pl – Antyweb.pl, which is one of the major Internet information services in Poland writing about the developments in Polish and global Internet, joined the Group and has strengthened the online segment of the Group’s operations.
- Acquisition of a unique real estate development project located in central Warsaw, i.e. Port Praski.
- Record issue of Sustainability-Linked Bonds, as defined by the ICMA international standard, in the amount of PLN 2.67 bn.
“In 2022 we consistently pursued our strategy. More than 20 million of inhabitants of Poland live within the coverage area of Plus’ 5G network. We have been investing in our programming offer, including the best sports and new TV series. B2C and B2B segments – consistent implementation of the multiplay strategy
Polsat Plus Group provides a total of over 20 million services (RGU’s) in the areas of telecommunication and TV while 2.5 million of its customers use multiplay services and enjoy tangible financial benefits from bundling of Polsat Box and Plus services. Revenue per contract customer increased by 3.8% year-on-year and reached 71.7 PLN while the churn ratio for B2C customers was invariably very low, at 7% annually.
“We have been effectively building the value and consolidating the loyalty of our customers. A stable base of 2.5 million subscribers, i.e. 41% of all our customers, use multiplay services,” says Maciej Stec, the Vice-President of the Management Board responsible for Polsat Plus Group’s Strategy. “In spite of the difficult macroeconomic situation, ARPU demonstrated upward trend across all customer segments thanks to such factors as, among others, popularization of 5G and of the offers bundled with Disney+ service. Churn remains invariably low at 7%,” adds Mr. Stec.
Polsat Plus Group provides services to nearly 70 thousand B2B clients. Thanks to the successively expanded offer of communication and data communication services the average revenue per unit generated by this group of clients exceeded 1.4 thousand PLN monthly
Media segment: TV and online
In 2022 the overall audience share of Telewizja Polsat TV channels was 22.5%, including 7.9% for the main channel (Polsat) and 14.7% for the theme channels. TV Polsat Group’s revenue from TV advertising and sponsoring increased by 1.3% during the year, reaching PLN 1.3 bn, while the share in the TV advertising market increased to 28.7%. 21 million users on average accessed Polsat-Interia Group’s Internet services every month, generating 2 billion page views.
“In 2022 we achieved very good audience results in spite of the unfavorable impact of the process of migration to the DVB-T2 standard by digital terrestrial TV. Our revenue from TV advertising and sponsoring increased year-on-year on the decline-plagued market” says Stanisław Janowski, the President of the Management Board of Telewizja Polsat, a Polsat Plus Group company. “During the fourth quarter of 2022 the number of users of our Internet services, Interia.pl foremost, increased by nearly 700 thousand year-on-year and reached more than 21 million. As planned we continue strengthening our foothold on the on-line publishers’ market, adds Mr. Janowski.
