Polsat Plus Group completes installation works in Drzeżewo on Poland’s third-largest wind farm
Commercial launch of the 139 MW Drzeżewo unit coming soon
Polsat Plus Group has completed installation works on the third-largest wind farm in Poland, which is also the Group’s largest wind farm to date — the 139 MW Drzeżewo project. All 63 turbines have been installed, and the project is currently undergoing technical commissioning. Full commercial operation of the farm — whose estimated annual output will cover the electricity needs of approximately 180,000 households — is planned for Q4 this year. Once operational, the Drzeżewo wind farm will double Polsat Plus Group’s wind power generation capacity.
Since 2021, Polsat Plus Group has been consistently implementing its Strategy 2023+ and developing a new business segment — green energy. Thanks to dynamic investments, the Group has quickly become a leading producer of energy from renewable sources.
Construction of the Drzeżewo wind farm began 18 months ago. The project comprises 63 wind turbines located in the municipalities of Potęgowo and Główczyce in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The turbine nacelles are mounted at heights of 100 and 120 meters, with total turbine heights (including blades) of 150 and 175 meters. The rotor diameters are 100 and 110 meters, and each turbine has a capacity of 2.2 MW.
– I’m pleased that in just 18 months we’ve completed construction of the third-largest wind farm in Poland — and the largest one we’ve built at Polsat Plus Group. The farm is currently undergoing technical commissioning. It is estimated to supply clean electricity to 180,000 households annually — enough to power cities like Gdańsk or Szczecin,” said Maciej Stec, Vice President of the Management Board, Polsat Plus Group. Altogether, our renewable energy sources can produce 1,700 GWh of clean, green energy annually — a potential we’ve built in just five years. We thank all partners, subcontractors, and local governments for their trust, support at every stage of the investment, excellent cooperation, and shared commitment to realizing our common vision, added Maciej Stec.
The general contractor for the construction works was ONDE, the turbine supplier was Vestas, and Neo Energy Group provided contract engineering services.
– Completing the installation of all turbines in the Drzeżewo project is not only a milestone for the investment — it’s also a symbol of effective collaboration and mutual trust. As contract engineer, Neo Energy Group supported the project at every stage — from analysis and land acquisition to supervision and solving engineering and organizational challenges. It’s a great responsibility, but also a source of satisfaction — especially today, as we look out over a landscape filled with 63 completed turbines,” said Piotr Beaupre, CEO of Neo Energy Group. I thank everyone involved: the investor — Polsat Plus Group — for its strategic vision and determination; the general contractor — ONDE — for efficient and safe execution; and the designers, local authorities, and communities — for creating the conditions for sustainable development. Drzeżewo proves that energy transformation in Poland is possible — here and now, added Piotr Beaupre.
– FThe Drzeżewo wind farm is one of the largest onshore investments in Poland and in ONDE’s history. We built 63 turbine foundations, used 22,000 m³ of concrete, over 2,000 tons of steel, nearly 47 km of roads, and almost 300,000 m² of assembly areas. These numbers add up to nearly 139 MW of installed capacity that will power thousands of homes with green energy,” summarized Paweł Przybylski, CEO of ONDE. It’s a massive project requiring thousands of hours of work, and we’re proud to be delivering it on schedule. It’s a testament to the professionalism and cooperation of the entire team. We thank all partners and local governments for their engagement — and especially the investor, Polsat Plus Group, for the trust that enabled us to complete this exceptional investment together, added Paweł Przybylski.
In August this year, Polsat Plus Group secured loans totaling nearly PLN 953 million from a consortium of reputable Polish financial institutions to finance the Drzeżewo wind farm project. The obtained financing reflects the deep trust financial institutions place in the Group and confirms the effectiveness of its Strategy 2023+.
Polsat Plus Group generates clean energy from the sun, wind, and biomass. Currently, the Group operates four wind farms with a total capacity of 150 MW – in Kazimierz Biskupi (17.5 MW), Miłosław (9.6 MW), Człuchów (72.6 MW), and Przyrów (50.4 MW). Once the Drzeżewo farm (138.6 MW) is commissioned, the Group’s wind power generation capacity will double.
In 2024, the Group’s own renewable energy sources produced 1,016 GWh of green energy (314 GWh from wind, 86 GWh from solar, and 616 GWh from biomass) – a 53% increase year-over-year. In the first half of this year alone, production reached 592 GWh (216 GWh from wind, 44 GWh from solar, and 332 GWh from biomass) – up 41% year-over-year.
