Plus Customers Set Another Record in Data Transmission
The year 2024 was a year of intensive work for Plus on expanding the 5G and 5G Ultra networks. As a result, Plus ends the year with over 26 million people within the reach of the fast 5G network. Meanwhile, nearly 17 million residents of Poland can already use 5G Ultra, with a maximum technological speed of up to 1 Gb/s. Plus customers also made intensive use of the 5G network's capabilities. In 2024 alone, they transmitted almost twice as much data as in 2023, amounting to 346,800,000 GB.
Plus Increases Access to 5G and 5G Ultra
Only in the third quarter of 2024 alone, as a result of network expansion to nearly 4,000 stations, Plus's 5G coverage increased by over a million people. This means that over 26 million, or nearly 70% of Poland's population, in 1,320 smaller and larger towns in all voivodeships, can seamlessly use the internet for entertainment and work, as well as utilize smart home capabilities in everyday life.
Meanwhile, nearly 17 million people, or almost half of Poland's population, are within the reach of 5G Ultra, mobile internet as fast as fiber optics.
How Did Plus Customers Use 5G in 2024?
Plus customers enjoy sharing experiences and emotions, as well as spending their free time watching favorite series and movies. In 2024, they set another record by transmitting 346,800,000 GB of data. This is almost twice the amount from the previous year.
346,800,000 GB is enough for:
- Watching content on streaming services for over 13,000 years non-stop,
- Listening to music online for 263,000 years,
- Sending a trillion messages and emails.
The most active 5G Plus network users in 2024 were in Warsaw. They downloaded a total of 22,800,000 gigabytes. The day when customers transmitted the most data was December 1, 2024 – amounting to 1,440,000 GB. This can be compared to talking on an internet communicator non-stop for 36 million hours.
