In 2021, we expanded the Group's activities to include a new business pillar – the production of clean energy from renewable sources. We are implementing our Strategy 2023+, which envisages a total investment of PLN 3.9 billion in the years 2022-2026. With the RES sources built, we will be able to produce approximately 1.7 TWh of clean, green energy per year, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in Poland’s economy by nearly 2 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent yearly.
As part of Strategy 2023+, we are primarily developing wind power capacity as the most efficient source of renewable energy. Currently, 5 wind farms with a total installed capacity of 289 MW are operational, and we are building one more wind farm. Our portfolio also includes two photovoltaic farms with a combined capacity of 90.8 MW. Renewable energy production, which is sensitive to meteorological conditions, is stabilized using two biomass turbines with a total capacity of 105 MW.
