The eBackpack project was launched by Plus in 2014. It is an advanced mobile educational system which replaces traditional textbooks and exercise books at school.
eBackpack is about integration of all the materials which are necessary in the course of the learning process, such as textbooks and other required reading books as well as dictionaries, encyclopedias and auxiliary materials. Both students and teachers will have all these items on their tablets, equipped with large, sharp color displays and LTE Internet access. What is important, eBackpack will be at their disposal round-the-clock during the entire school year, both in school and after classes. The eBackpack platform also offers electronic tools which support the process of managing a school’s work, for example electronic registers. Thanks to this a teacher has access to lists of students, their grades and notes as well as contact with parents.
The program is now running in selected public schools, including Middle School no. 92 and Middle School no. 94 in Warsaw (in Ursynów district, ca. 300 participants in total), Middle School no. 4 in Ciechanów (ca. 100 participants), and Middle School no. 2 in Ostrzeszów (ca. 100 participants)
The program’s implementation is usually preceded by social consultations in the local community.
The eBackpack project is implemented in cooperation with the following partners:
-
LG Electronics Polska, who provides high quality LG PAD 8.0 tablets with high speed LTE Internet access,
-
PZU insurance company, who provides insurance for the devices,
-
Mobile Box S.A., who provides the eBackpack platform,
-
