Polsat Plus Group, which manufactures NesoBus hydrogen-powered city buses at its Świdnik plant through PAK-PCE Polish Hydrogen Bus, is now expanding its operations to include the production of electric buses. Its first order will be fulfilled for the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis (Górnośląsko‑Zagłębiowska Metropolia, GZM). The company signed an agreement with GZM on August 21 for the delivery of nine vehicles to PKM Świerklaniec. Polsat Plus Group has previously delivered eight hydrogen buses to GZM. The new electric buses are scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2027.
The electric bus from the Polsat Plus Group is a modern, zero-emission public transit vehicle designed to provide a high level of travel comfort, passenger safety, and efficient operation in urban traffic.
The contract covers the delivery of 9 brand-new, 12-meter, fully low-floor electric city buses, along with charging infrastructure (4 dual-port charging stations: 1 rated at 80 kW and 3 rated at 120 kW), offering a driving range of up to 350 km. The vehicles will be equipped with solutions that enhance passenger safety and comfort. Onboard features will include air conditioning, video surveillance, a modern Passenger Information System, a lane change assist system, and a 360-degree camera system. The buses will also be adapted to accommodate passengers with reduced mobility.
Thanks to its state-of-the-art electric drivetrain, high-capacity traction batteries, and advanced safety and driver-assistance systems, the Polsat Plus Group electric bus represents an environmentally friendly and safe public transportation solution that meets the highest standards of urban mobility.
The agreement between the Polsat Plus Group and the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis was signed in Katowice on Friday, August 21, 2026. The signing ceremony was attended by: Igor Śmietański, Vice Chair of the Management Board of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis; Waldemar Bojarun, Member of the Management Board of the Silesian Voivodeship; Maciej Nietopiel, President of the Management Board of PAK-PCE Polski Autobus Wodorowy; and Katarzyna Sobierajska, Member of the Management Board of PAK-PCE Polski Autobus Wodorowy.
The investment, valued at more than PLN 28 million and financed 80% by the Poland's Just Transition Fund, is intended to strengthen zero-emission transportation in the region. The buses are manufactured by PAK-PCE Polski Autobus Wodorowy, a Polsat Plus Group company, at its own production facility in Świdnik.
The Metropolis already operates 8 hydrogen-powered NesoBuses, and electric buses of the same brand will now join the fleet.
